My name is Kris, and it's nice to be here. I look forward to getting to know you all, sharing ideas, and seeing everyone's creative talents.
Currently I sell on Etsy, which I've been doing now for about 5 months. I've done rather well for a "newbie" IMO, and I hope to continue doing well!
I was hoping to do a fall art festival this year in Rhode Island, but due to a few large orders I've gotten as well as several wedding party requests, I didn't get my application in on time. So I hope to be able to get my stock piled up and be all ready and set to go by 2009.
Other than jewelry my time is taken up by my full time job being an insurance agent, taking care of my boyfriend of 3 years, and our 2 dogs, Titan, a German Shepherd, and Mikey, a hound mix.
Hi, I can't even remember where I found this site... Hope I've left a trail of breadcrumbs.... Well, I've actually been making jewelry all my remembered life. My first wearable piece when I was 8. I graduated from a bachelor of Visual Art in Gold and Silversmithing and a separate diploma in gemology. Are there any other metalsmiths here? Currently I am working in jewelry retail (corporation) and yes it is fundamentally unsatisfying. No art. No design, just repair. I do bead sometimes, but mashing metal is my first love.... I would like to know if any of you would give me some indication of your experiences on etsy. Does it move your art? Where are the best selling sites? I've paid out a bunch of money without result and the free ones I've tried not any better. Any input at all would be helpful. Looking forward to seeing your works and 'speaking' with all of you.
Nice to meet you, and I hope to get to know you all as we work together here :-)
I've had a website for about 3 years which is currently under a major overhaul, and will be done soon. I've been on Etsy for 7 months and make jewelry, accessories, art, and sell vintage as well; here's my shop: ARTSFARM
Here's a little bio/interview I did recently, which tellS a bit more about me and what I do: ARTSFARMSTUDIOS

Happy Shopping!
My name is Jennifer, I'm 28 and live in Vermont. I've been making jewelry for about 3 years off and on, between college classes and writing. I am a writer, but consider jewelry my craft.
I started out with wire working and incorporated chainmail about six months into learning. I am self taught, though I did take a couple of basic art classes in college, nothing having to do with jewelry though. I may be stubborn in the fact that I don't try to do what other people do, as such have really avoided a lot of wire working tutorials and books, though some basics weaves and stuff really do need patterns for, much like sewing. I really prefer to try to make my own style jewelry, I don't like copying other's works. However, on the other hand, I do love to teach, so sharing my own designs is not a bad thing to me.
I am hoping to eventually get into teaching a few classes here at my local craft store, but just haven't had the time yet. Waiting for school to start for my children so that I will have time. Speaking of children, I have 2, a boy who is just turning 7 and a girl who is 9. A hubby, 3 cats and 7 fish make up my household. I am a stay at home mom, though writer and jewelry maker kind of makes me a at home businesswoman too.
I am a member over on the Creative Wire Jewelry forum on delphi forums. And I am participating in the current season of the Year of Jewelry. Though at the moment I am late with my last weeks entry! It doesn't help that I am running dangerously low on supplies either. Bur I have been so busy with my blog designing that I haven't had time. I just finished my first tutorial for an ear cuff, which is available through an email to me for free... And I posted up the first of many beginner series blog postings atBody Icing by Jennifer
So that is me. I am glad to have found another group of jewelry makers, and I will be telling the folks over at CWJ about this group.
