What kind of "vintage" do you love?

Storing Your Work

I am constantly trying to find good flat containers for my finished pieces, especially long necklaces. I have some large plastic boxes that seal well, and I lined them with bubble wrap. What do you use?

What are you working on this week?

I am working with vintage buttons. I have three new bracelets planned. I finished the first one, but I am thinking about redoing it because I don't like the clasp and the spacers. The button is sparkly pressed glass. It's too late for me today, but tomorrow I want to adjust the design.

This necklace features a large Art Nouveau Style Dragonfly. I made this at a craft show earlier this year as a demonstration piece. I'm also waering it in my profile picture.

A charm sounds great. That would be a wonderful focal for a necklace.

That sounds so lovely, Elaine! My favorite pieces of jewelry are from my Mom and my grandmother. When I wear them, I feel close to them, and I remember them wearing them and then more memories come. I have part of my grandmother's earring, a reverse carved lucite rose, deep red. I am thinking of making it into a charm for a necklace.

Hi, everyone. I got into the jewelry business by way of vintage jewelry. My mother had left me all her jewelry and I wanted to share it with my family. However, none of the young people were interested, so I took some of the jewelry apart and reworked the vintage beads into new designs. I made pieces for myself, my daughter and daughter-in-law and my granddaughters and everyone loved them. I went on to buy beads, beads and more beads and make lots of jewelry, but I never got back to the vintage beads. I've been thinking about my mother's jewelry a lot these days and I'm going to revisit it and start working with it again.

If you want votes on a theme, I vote for ocean breeze.
