Cowgirl Making Art Deep in the Heart of Texas
I live and work on my ranch with my horses, dogs and cats in Southeast Texs. The challenge I face is that I live and work in the same place, so networking and getting my work seen is problematic. I am here to not only augment my skill set technically, but to also get some help with marketing and sales.
I think my largest challenge as an artist is to focus in on a marketable body of work. I have such a skill set that includes: metal work, enamelling, art, lampwork glass, structural 3-d beadwork, etc., so when I get an itch to play with a different material I can go spinning off in a wild direction that has nothing to do with what I am currently trying to market.
I am recently divorced and can't afford to play around like that so much anymore, so I need to balance my need to be creative in order to generate new ideas with the need to produce marketable work. I feel confident that most artists in every discipline struggle with what I am currently struggling with!
