Hi, BeadRee,
Thank you for your comment.
Yes, most of my silver jewelry pieces are classic
looking so far. I love carving figures on dry silver clay.
I still have lots of room to improve. I will appreciate it
if you give me your constractive opinion for my pieces.
Hi Rita,
Thanks for your comments! I'm very glad you enjoyed my slideshow! The song playing is called "Underneath" by Alanis Morrisette.
For my collages... I use a combination of Spray Adhesive (lazy but quick and easy!) and/or PVC glue with a brush. Never had much success with glue sticks - no matter what brand!
I always use some wax (or other non-stick) paper and a small brayer (roller) to squeeze out any wrinkles in the images and use a damp cloth to mop up any excess glue.
When I'm finished I spray my work with either a matt or gloss spray fixative/varnish. All of these things can be bought at any art supply shop but I source them as cheap as possible - usually at a $2 shop - or some other discount store. The brands are unknown but I've found the products do the same job and are SO much more affordable - especially when you use alot! Same with spray paints which I sometimes use as a base on things before I collage on top. I love to experiment with colours - and also bronze, copper, gold and silver. They dry quickly and make a great sealer. Although I also cover my backgrounds with some kind of decorative paper first instead of paint.
Another product I can't live without is "rub 'n' buff" which comes in a tube and is most often used for antiquing and gilding mirrors/frames etc. It comes in different metallic colours and I squeeze some on my finger (it's like a dry/slightly oily paint) and run it around the edges of my work and blend it in. It gives the work a great protective seal and seems to just set them off! This product may be called other names - just look for gilding paints etc. You can use it on just about anything, it dries almost immediately and afterwards you give it a rub and it brings out the sheen. It's also waterproof.
It's not cheap (although sometimes you can get it on sale) but I find that these tubes last for AGES as you only have to use a tiny amount each application.
Ok Rita, that's all for now but please feel free to ask anything else that pops into mind! I am happy to share!
I also make things just for decorative purposes but for my special works, the thing which draws me to SoulCollage is that I find the process to be very intuitive and insightful and adds another dimension to my work which I love.
Somehow there is always an element of mystery which comes through these which appeals to me.
I am really keen to get started on making collage jewellery - I just need some spare time! Don't we all! LOL

Hi again Rita,
I've just had a lovely time browsing through your Etsy shop and wanted to tell you how much I LOVE your work!
I especially love the way some of the pieces are displayed on beautiful backgrounds ~ it is SO effective and makes them even more unique and magickal.
